So much for posting the next day

Geesh!! I just looked at when I posted last and it's been half a month since then. Things got really hectic with trying to keep up with school during the end of the semester, so that's what I was taking care of. Right now I have 4 out of 5 grades and they are A's! I'm still waiting on my English class grade, and she has until 5:00 tomorrow to get it in. I have a solid B in that class, but *could* bring it up to an A if I did well on my essay revision.

I didn't get to take any time off because now I have started a 3 week British Lit class that is going to take every second of my free time just to keep up with the reading. I know what you're thinking, "If it's taking up your free time, how are you writing this post?" Well, my free time really means kid free time and that's not what's going on now. They're just all doing other stuff.

I do have some knitting picture loaded on my computer, so I'm going to make a separate post and get them on here. I have a couple of other projects I've finished that I need to get pictures taken of as well, but that will have to wait for now.

Sooo overdue for a post!

Now that Kayin's birthday was more than 6 weeks ago, and that was my last post, I figured I should get on here and give an update.

School-
Things have been crazy the last few weeks. We had Spring Break at the end of March and things went smoothly. We didn't do anything big, but we had fun playing and sleeping in. Eli got sick at the end of the break with the flu and I got sick a couple of days after, so I missed the week of school. Then he got a horrible head cold, so I had to miss a day of school the next week because he couldn't go to the sitter. That got me behind in my classes so I started scrambling to get caught up because we're getting to the end of the semester and I HAVE to keep my grades up. I feel pretty good about how I've done getting caught up, so things should be good now.

Knitting-
On the knitting front, GOOD NEWS! I found the cord to my camera, so I'll be adding pictures to my next post that will be dedicated just to that. As far as what I've been working on, I have a double knit bag that I designed that I'm getting close to being finished with. Now I have to find some handles for it and I have an idea where I want to order them from. I received an e-mail that was talking about this great company, Homestead Heirlooms and they make the most beautiful handles. In my normal knitting world I would have finished this bag weeks ago, but I haven't had a lot of knitting time, so I've only been getting a few rows each week. After the semester is over in a couple weeks I'll have more time to knit. I just started my first shawl too. I'm having a lot of fun making it and the color is beautiful. I'll add that to my knit picture post too.

Clogging-
I took Ananzi to her first clogging competition on the 9th of April and she did GREAT! She went out there and performed like she'd done it a million times. The videos I took are on YouTube on the Ultimate Clogging channel. You can watch the videos if you click here. She is the one in the blue dress. While we were there I got the bug to compete, so I came home and started learning some of the hard solos and I will be performing two of them for the competition we have coming up next weekend. On top of those, I have a duet that I will be doing with the other adult dancer at the studio (he’s a whopping 20 years old!) I’ve been having so much fun learning these dances and I can’t wait until next week!

That’s pretty much what’s been going on for the last few weeks. I have to get ready for a meeting now, but when I have some time tonight after the kids go to bed I will get back on here and add my knitting pictures.

I had a brand new baby girl named Kayin. She was short and fat and so beautiful! Today she turned 4 and to celebrate we went to Chuck E. Cheese and spent way too much money on their overpriced greasy pizza, but had a lot of fun playing the games. Both girls ended up being able to get some fun things with their tickets and everyone who came enjoyed themselves. The pictures are on my sister's camera, so as soon as I get them I will post them on here.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAYIN GIRL!

Checking In and a Little About Knitting

Sorry about not posting for a few days. This week has been a little hectic. I've been working on a research essay for my english class and doing some research for my group presentation in my communications class. I was planning on posting tonight when I got home from knit night but poor Ananzi woke up with a fever and was up and down a few times being sick and needing a drink and taking medicine. She's sleeping now and I hope she gets a really good night sleep. I'm going to keep her home from school tomorrow, so that means she'll get a four day weekend because they already don't have school on Monday.

I really can't wait to get a new camera because I finished my first pair of toe up socks and they turned out great! I really like the technique and plan on making many more pairs. I got the pattern out of Wendy Johnson's Socks From the Toe Up. I really like the book and can't wait to make another pair.

My next project is going to be the Man's Cable Cardigan from the Winter Vogue Knitting magazine (pg 59). I started the gauge swatch tonight and I am loving the yarn already. It's Ella Rae Superwash in taupe. Jake really likes how it looks. I can't wait to get started on the actual sweater!

Clogging Duet for Ananzi!

Ananzi (my 6 year old daughter), wanted to learn to clog and I told her that when we had the extra money per month that I would get her in class. I was able to do that at the beginning of this season in September and she has caught on so quickly! I've also been able to take the classes with her for no charge because the teacher doesn't have an adult class going and I've always wanted to learn. Plus it helps Ananzi because I can practice with her at home. Her teacher keeps telling me how much of a natural she is and that she will for sure be promoted up to the next class for next year. So yesterday we went to class and her teacher tells me that she wants to have Ananzi and her son do a duet together for a competition over in Pocatello in April and they would be the only ones from their class going to it! Susan (teacher) gave me the DVD with the dance instructions on them and we're going to start learning it today. I am so so so very proud of my Ananzi!

I got an A!

The title says it all. I got the results of my Communications test and it was an A! I'm so excited. I've had tests in 3 of my classes (the only 3 that have tests) and I've been able to get an A on all of them. I really like how this semester is going. It's late and past my bedtime but I had to share!

So I didn't get here yesterday

I know I said I was going to do another post but life all of the sudden took over. I don't even have time right now to do a long post because Jake is going to be getting home in about 30 mins and then I have to head off to school. I have Geology and Communications today. We're going to get our test scores back in my Comm class and I'm really looking forward to that because I feel really good about how I did on the test. We got our Geology test results on Monday and I got a 93.3%! Not bad for only looking over the notes the night before.

I was going to do some reading before going to school today but Ananzi has been having pain in her ears so I took her to the Dr. Everything was clear, so no ear infection. I started feeling around in the back of her mouth and felt that one of her 6 year molars are trying to come in on the same side she's been having pain so I think that's what has been causing it. I'm going to get some pain reliever today after school is done so she can have some if it continues to bug her.

Yesterday I was able to take the kids to IHOP for National Pancake Day and they all got free pancakes. I can't believe how much those kids can eat! Ananzi ate 3, as did Kayin (she's only 3!) and Eli ate 2. These weren't tiny little pancakes either. They were pretty good sized. My sister Michelle came with us and it was a lot of fun.

As far as the part of the name that says "stitching," it refers to knitting and I promise to get to that. I'm working on finding a new camera so I can start posting pictures of my projects.

Ok, gotta go eat lunch before I head out!
